We, ( Purite Audio, London) are expecting two truly exciting new speakers from Dutch&Dutch and Sigberg Audio and a whole new range of designs from Acoustical Science Laboratories (Ascilab).
Sigberg Audio have already announced the release of their new active, three way, full range, cardioid response 'Saranna',Sigberg's first floorstander design.
Sigberg's previous loudspeakers the SBS.1 and Manta were deliberately designed to only extend their bass response to 80Hz necessitating the use of a subwoofer I believe this a sound design choice, allowing the main speakers just to reproduce the upper frequencies.
The SBS.1 uses the same professionally derived coaxial mid/treble unit and has a dedicated 6.5" midbass driver, adding a Sigberg 'Inkognito' or 'D10' subwoofer is simply plug and play as everything is pre-configured, we acoustically measure your room and use the speakers inbuilt PEQ to remove any standing wave derived bass peaks, so no more bass BOOM!
The Manta uses the same 6.5" coax mid/treble but with a 12" dedicated midbass, the bass punch of the Mantas is spectacular, I use my pair with two of Sigberg's D10 subwoofers (2x10" drivers in each sub) again correcting the speaker's interaction with the room with the inbuilt parametric EQ.
The Manta is simply the best loudspeaker i have had here, it is without constraint and compared to expensive 'High-End' designs it is not only much cheaper but delivers far superior sound quality.
The new 'Saranna' promises to combine the best qualities of the Manta and SBS.1, it uses a larger co-axial mid/treble, again creating a cardioid midrange response ( cardioid just increases the direct sound, producing a clearer more insightful sound) on the rear are asymmetrically positioned twin 8" high excursion bass drivers producing Saranna's completely full-range extension.
The Sigberg Saranna should be available later this summer.
Dutch&Dutch 'should' release their new 6C, a more compact and affordable version of the superb 8C monitor, details are unavailable at present but I expect it to closely resemble its big brother just smaller!

Perhaps the most exciting and financially accessible new designs are being designed and manufactured in South Korea by Acoustical Scientific Laboratories ( Ascilab ).
A brand new company who from the outset invested in the most sophisticated design and measurement equipment the Klippel near field scanner.
Which has allowed them to produce the finest measuring and thus sounding loudspeakers currently available without 'high-end' pricing.
Every design decision has been measurement led from the choice of enclosure material ( a type of Corian) to the groundbreaking Purifi woofers and newly available tweeter.
Their range spans from the C6B:- 6" woofer, 1" alumina ceramic dome tweeter, passive radiators .
To the intoxicating A6C (C stands for cardioid) 4x6.5"1.3" Purifi tweeter, which will marry to theBX10C subwoofer module which comprises of 4x10" Purifi woofers!
The first models to be available will be their A6B :- a two way all Purifi design compromising 6.5" aluminium woofer and 1.3 Purifi tweeter and two passive Purifi passive radiators.
This is the finest compact loudspeaker currently available.
The second model to be released will be the C6C ( cardioid ) which comprises of 4x6" woofers, 1" alu/ceramic tweeter, Hypex amplification.
The C6C can be mounted on its dedicated sub bass module the BX8C which comprises of 4x 8" bass drivers, together the two units will extend the cardioid response and bass extension to completely full range.
The C6C and Bx8C will be available to purchase separately.
Pricing of the Ascilab designs will be extremely keen, the finest measuring and sounding loudspeakers at sensible prices, the revolution that has produced inexpensive state of the art electronics has at last turned to loudspeaker manufacture.
